Job Opening - Senior Center Cook & Custodian

HYRUM CITY is accepting resumes for a part-time cook and custodian at the Hyrum Senior Center. Responsibilities include preparation, cooking and serving of food to senior center patrons; utilizing recipes to determine required ingredients, quality, servings, and time necessary to ensure meals are served on schedule; and ensuring kitchen cleanliness is in compliance with Health Department regulations i.e. washing dishes, sweep and mop, kitchen appliances, sinks, food prep areas, etc. Performs general custodial responsibilities in restrooms, and common areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, emptying garbage receptacles, window cleaning, and snow removal from sidewalk. May assist with crafts; driving large passenger van; and assisting participants as needed.

Applicants must have or able to obtain within one week of being hired a Utah State Food Handlers Permit, and Food Safety Manager Certification; a valid Utah Driver’s License; Serv Safe Certified; be able to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting of 10 to 25 pounds; and pass a preemployment background check and drug screen.

This position is Part-Time Non-benefitted with a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a maximum of 27 hours per week.
