HYRUM CITY PARKS – The Uniform National Land Standard suggests 10 acres of recreational property per 1,000 people.  Hyrum City is well over that recommendation at 29 acres per 1,000 people.  Hyrum City owns over 173.5 acres of recreational property that is available to the public.  The residents of Hyrum City are very fortunate to have such a large amount of park space. 
The following is a list of properties owned by Hyrum City. Reservations can be made at the Hyrum City Offices.


City Square – Located on the same block as City Hall.  There is a pavilion, playground equipment, and sand volleyball pit.  The pavilion can be reserved through the City Offices at no charge to residents of Hyrum City.  The pavilion has 14 tables that can seat approximately 100 people.  Restrooms are available.

East ParkLocated on the northwest corner of Main Street and 800 East it is Hyrum City’s largest improved park at 17.5 acres.  The rodeo grounds, a lighted baseball and softball diamond, four other baseball/softball fields, two lighted tennis courts, concessions stand, and various playground equipment are found at East Park.  The tennis courts and playground equipment are open to the public, but reservations are required for the rodeo grounds and ball diamonds.

Soccer Field – Located between 100 and 200 South on 800 East.  There are six soccer fields with portable bleachers and goalie nets.  The fields occupy approximately 6 acres.

Pride Park – Located on Glenwood Drive, this half-acre pocket park has playground equipment for all residents of Hyrum to enjoy.

A.J. Park – Located eight miles east of the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon on the north side of Hwy 101.  A pavilion with 16 tables that can seat approximately 120 people, fire pit, playground equipment, and sand volleyball pit can be reserved to the residents of Hyrum for a $25 deposit and no rental fee.   Restrooms are available.

 

 

Canyon Campground – Located eight miles east of the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon on the south side of Hwy 101.  There are 14 campground spaces with electrical hook-ups.  In the center of the campground there is a pavilion with tables that can accommodate up to 50 people.   Portable toilets are available.  Residents of Hyrum can reserve a spot in the campground for $5 per space, per night.

 

 

Canyon Lodge – Located eight miles east of the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon on the south side of Hwy 101.  The lodge has a kitchen, large room with tables, and restroom facilities.  The Canyon Lodge is for day-use only and can accommodate approximately 60 people.  Residents of Hyrum can reserve this facility for a $25 rental fee per day.  Reservations are required.

 

Canyon Park – Located eight miles east of the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon on the south side of Hwy 101 between the Canyon Lodge and Canyon Campground.  There are eight picnic tables with freestanding BBQ devices nearby, volleyball court, and playground equipment.  No reservations are required.  Portable toilets are available.



 

CCC Camp – Located at the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon, approximately1/4 mile upstream of the retired power plant, this 30 acre natural park can be reserved.  This site is unimproved and restroom facilities are not available.  The Fees are:
Resident Rent  $10.00  per day
Non-Resident Rent $25.00 per day
Additional Fee of $1.00 per person over 20


 

 

Left Hand Fork Property(s) – Located seven miles east of the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon, the Left Hand Fork is north of the main canyon.  There are two 40-acre parcels – Like the CCC Camp these sites are unimproved and restroom facilities are not available.  Left Hand Fork Properties can be reserved, the fees are:
Resident Rent  $10.00  per day
Non-Resident Rent $25.00 per day
Additional Fee of $1.00 per person over 20
